My art

Why I chose to draw this?
We got a choice of six different types of art to draw. I chose this one because I thought It would be fun to draw all the patterns and it wasn't to complicated for me since I'm not such a good artist.

Did it turn out good? I think it turned out good because I tried my hardest and took my time.

I am most proud of? I am most proud of all the cool patterns I drew and thought of.

Scene writing.

Image result for ocelot

Success Criteria
  • Has strong adjectives
  • Different sentence beginnings
  • Different sentence lengths
  • A simile and/or alliteration
  • Has an introduction, body and conclusion
  • Thoughtful word choices
  • Use a topic sentence to start a paragraph.

Why I'm writing about this? Rimu hub had a choice if they wanted to write about character description scene description or speech. I chose scene description.
Why I chose it? I like writing about things I like so I figured if I chose a cool scene it would be fun and it was.
Did it turn out good? I think it turned out good because I used lots of descriptive language and cool words.
I was most proud of.....  How I made my description quite long for a scene with not much in it.

I turn around and in front of my eyes I see a beautiful scene. I see a powerful ecru and sepia colored  tree trunk embedded into the ground. Sturdy branches sprout from the trunk that hold up delicate lawn green leaves. Little partures in the leaves make small bright holes of sunlight giving the leaves a summery look. But the most magnificent part of this beautiful scene is the creature sitting on the thickest branch like a lazy lion. It’s eyes were as curious as a  monkey and it’s coat was painted with various black marks. On the upper side of the creature's body it has dark ginger fur and on the bottom half, it’s fur is a mix of white and very light grey. This creature is an ocelot.

Spotted cat art

My art is a brown cat with green eyes and slightly darker brown spots. I made the background by randomly smudging paint all over the background. I found it hard to do the cat's whiskers because I got all the colours mixed up and it looked really bad and I had to restart.  I made a QR code for my art description we had to do. You can listen to my art description if you scan my QR Code with an iPad.

Third place cross country.

On Thursday was the senior Parkvale school cross country. You had a choice to go in the fun run (one lap of both fields and lots of obstacles and you won't make the inter schools) or the competitive ( four laps of both fields, less obstacles and it's possible to make the inter schools). I competed in the year 6 boys competitive. In the end I managed to come third place and I was very happy that I had made it to the inter schools. Dylan came first and Hugh came second and Caleb came fourth.
For a prize my dad bought me two Monstercat albums (music). Here are some of my favorite songs from both the albums.

The albums also came with the album cover which is really cool because I can put it as my background for my computer.

Birthday party.

On the holidays I didn't do much but one of my highlights was having my birthday party and listening to Monstercat. At my birthday we all just started off playing and opening presents. We played a game where we got dry pasta with the massive holes through it and the long thin one, then we put the long thin one in our moths and tried to scoop up more dry pasta than the other people. After that we played Minecraft for a while on our tablets.  Then we had party food. I really enjoyed the fruit bursts. Once we were all fed, we watched a movie but I can't remember the name of it. My other highlight was listening to Monstercat songs. Here is some of my favorites they are by Noisestorm,San Holo and Draper.

my maths

I am blogging this because I did well in this maths.
We were learning to solve problems collaboratively.

Problem 1. If you recycle this glass bottle, you get 20 cents back .
The full bottle of soft drink costs six times as much as the bottle itself.

Problem 2. What is the smallest number of pins you would need to pin up 16 notices?
You must be able to see the information on every notice, and every notice must have a pin in each corner.

Problem 3. One T has a perimeter of 10 centimeters.
Three T’s have a perimeter of 18 centimeters. What is the perimeter of 10 T’s that are joined this way?

Problem 4. Aroha,Beth,Connie and Desely played each other in a knockout table tennis  tournament. Use this diagram and these clues to find out who won the tournament.
Aroha did not play Connie.

Beth beat Desely.

week 8 /reading task.

This is Connor with his paint fulled water balloons.
I am blogging this because : I like my drawing I did of Connor.
We were learning to : discuss a book in  a literacy circle.

This is my reading task. I needed to draw a scene from the book. my scene is where a kid called Connor is handing two paint fulled water balloons to two other kids. The other kids just think It's water but It's actually paint! The kids throw the paint bombs and they hit two cars.
